Crum Electric Supply was founded in 1976 in Casper, Wyoming by David H. Crum. The company now has 12 branch locations in Wyoming, South Dakota, Idaho, Utah, and Colorado. Crum Electric Supply has grown steadily over the years into the premier electrical distributor in the Rocky Mountain region. In 2006 Crum Electric Supply was awarded the Distributor of the Year award for performance by Affiliated Distributors. This is the highest honor for any distributor within Affiliated Distributors.
Crum Electric Supply has grown through acquisitions over the years. These acquisitions include the purchase of Gifford Electric Supply in South Dakota in 1987, General Electric Supply Co. in Rock Springs, Wyoming in 1993, GEM Electric Supply in Idaho in 1997, Component Specialties of Grand Junction, Colorado in 1999, and Omni Electrical Distributors of Denver, Colorado in 2002. In August of 2006 Crum Electric Supply opened its 12th branch location in North Salt Lake, UT.
1997 saw the beginning of our data & tele-communications product division, CRUM.COM. This division has grown rapidly. The emerging "connected world" offers great opportunities for this enterprise. Crum Electric Supply employs DataCom specialists to assist our customers with their projects.
In January of 2004 Crum Electric Supply welcomed a new leader. Jeff Hockin, a 20 year veteran of the company was promoted to President/Chief Operating Officer. Jeff has served in many roles at Crum Electric Supply including branch manager and VP/General Manager. There were two other significant promotions in January of 2004, Jim Roden to the position of VP of Operations and Dave M. Crum to VP of Sales and Marketing.
